Preventive Care

Fissure Sealents

A fissure sealant is a protective plastic coating which is applied to the biting surfaces of the back teeth. It prevents food and bacteria getting into the grooves of the teeth and causing decay. Fluoride applications are applied as a gel.

Scales and Polishes

We will assess the condition of your gums and help you to achieve and maintain healthy gums through education on oral hygiene techniques tailored to your needs. We will also use our ultrasonic cleaners and occasionally manual instruments to remove the hard deposits of tarter (calculus) that build up on your teeth, then polish them to gently remove stains on the surface.
Recent research indicates that untreated or undiagnosed gum disease can be linked with heart disease.
